Happy Halloween!

Our Halloween was a FULL day of craziness and fun! In the morning, we went to a family party at Christy's house to have pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes, decorate cookies, let the kids see each other in their costumes, and have fun! We were supposed to leave by 8:15 to pick up Janelle and Alyssa before we left and in true Ami fashion, that is exactly when I woke up :) We jumped in the car and rushed to get there, and I only realized I forgot Jane's costume when we got there. Luckily, Megan's butterfly costume saved the day! I'm almost glad we forgot her costume because now we have really cute pictures in two different ones! Thanks Christy, Brian, and Megan! :)
The whole bunch
What a smiley butterfly!!

Jane is such a trooper! After getting home from Salt Lake, Jane and I headed to our primary Halloween party to see our class's costumes, followed by a long nap :) When she woke up, we headed to my parents trunk-or-treat, but by the time we made it, most people had already gone. She gave Landon bunches of kisses, and we stopped by Gi-gi's house. Jane can't ever get enough of Landon! He is one of her favorite friends and at Christy's, trunk-or-treat, and Gi-gi's, she grabbed his face and kissed him over and over:

Have you ever seen a baby giraffe sucking a soother? :)

Our last stop before heading home was at Barbara's house to see Addie's costume and so they could see Jane. What a couple of cuties!

While we were at Barbara's, I was trying to get Addie to smile for our pictures by fake sneezing. Jane was pretty slap-happy from being so tired, and while Addie didn't think I was funny, Jane was giggling harder than we have ever heard her laugh before!

What a perfect end to Halloween!

Can't Get Enough of Our Baby

Here's just a bunch of what we've been up to lately:

Jane taking her first morning nap when we woke up freezing cold and realized we hadn't turned the heater on the night before. It was 64 degrees! Brrrr!

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...

Jane taking a bath in the kitchen sink :)

Phew! That was a lot! If you made it to the end, congratulations! :)

Janey had a Little Lamb...

Another really funny thing she does is cry when she gets really happy. Last Saturday, Peter and I went on a date while my mom watched Jane. When we got back and Jane saw us, she got really happy and was flapping her arms and kicking her legs, the she just started bawling! It was so cute! And she did the same thing today when Peter came home from work. I try to hold her by the window or take her out on the front porch whenever he comes home and today he pulled in the driveway and rolled down the window and started yelling her name. When she realized it was him, she started crying because she was so excited to see him!

She loves the stuffed lamb Aunt Loran gave to her more than any of her other toys! She has pretty much the same reaction I was just describing above, except she doesn't cry, she grabs the lamb and kisses, eats, squeezes, licks, cuddles, and plays with it like crazy! We hide it from her, then bring it out slowly and as soon as she sees it, she starts going nuts! (We sing "Janey Had a Little Lamb" to her all the time now :) Thanks, Aunt Loran! I'm sure it will be her favorite stuffed animal forever!

Yummy!

Jane loves eating solid foods and is so so good about eating her baby food. She likes trying new things and has liked almost everything we've given her, except peas. She HATES peas. After I sneak one or two bites in, she catches on and simply refuses to open her mouth. What a smart little bug! This is one of her first experiences with fruits and veggies. She gobbled up the carrots and as soon as I switched to pears, she started pulling these faces. The very last one is my favorite!

Dadada and Mamama :)

About a week ago, Jane started saying "dadadada" all the time. It is so cute! We just pretend she knows what she's talking about, especially Peter, who responds, "Yes, Jane?" every time she starts babbling :) I got kinda jealous and Peter started telling her to "say mamamama" and last Thursday she said mama for the very first time! Now I feel a little bit bad because we got this cute video of her saying mama and now that she has started saying that, she has stopped saying dada nearly as much :) I am so proud of her, for how much she is learning and growing every single day!

Jane, Jane Bo Bane :)

Jane is rolling around like crazy! When she first started to roll, she would go up on her side, then plant her face in the ground until her legs flipped and she was on her tummy. She was rolling just front to back and back to front not very long ago, but has now figured out that she can roll to get to things she wants. Yesterday, she rolled all the way across the living room the short way, just to explore her boundaries. When I started calling to her, she just looked right at me, then started rolling and rolling until she got to me! It looks hilarious when she rolls up on her side then flops over, again and again until she gets to where she wants to be. AND, it makes me so happy that she knows I'm her mom and that she loves me so much. :) (This video was taken about a month ago. Don't judge, it's tough to find time to blog these days.)

Just a few videos

Yesterday we went to Magleby's for dinner. They're doing a special right now and using a menu of prices from 1979 to celebrate 30 years. She slept most of the way through the meal (as usual) and woke up shortly before we were ready to go. Man, she has gotten grabby! She grabbed a noodle that was on my fork as it was going to my mouth. Spaghetti sauce all over! Even though I was trying so hard to be careful, she also got the edge of my plate and almost pulled it off the table. Then, she wanted the lemon off daddy's drink. This was Jane's first encounter with a lemon :) We couldn't stop laughing! What a funny baby!

Also, Jane was in a great mood on Sunday and we got this video of daddy holding her.

I'm a horrible blogger

Wow, it has been a VERY long time since I last put anything up here. How embarrassing. Where do I even start? Peter and I are amazed at how much Jane changes every day! It seems like every day she does something new! She rolled over for the first time two weeks ago and was so proud of herself. She was laying on the floor and I was playing with her, then I looked away for one second and when I looked back, she was on her side, teetering. Peter and I started cheering her on and she flopped on her back. I think she would have been scared, but we were so excited and happy that she couldn't help but be happy and excited, too!
Man, I know this was forever ago, but the pictures are just so cute I HAVE to share! For Father's Day, Jane gave Peter a bunch of daddy books, like "Daddy's Girl" and "Daddy Hugs". I was trying to think of something Pete could do with Jane and I thought that reading stories would be very enjoyable for both of them. We went to church and when we came home (and after a nice Father's Day nap), Pete fed her a bottle! She looked pretty confused that daddy was the one holding her and she was being fed, but overall it went pretty well.
Jane and I are so lucky to have Peter! He is definitely the best husband and daddy in the world and we love him SOOO much!

Jane in the morning

I know I just finished a post, but then I found this video and HAD to share it :) A couple of days ago, I went in to get Jane out of bed and she was sucking on her hand. She has just recently discovered her left and she LOVES sucking on it, especially when she thinks mommy is taking too long to get ready to feed her. But, typical Jane, as soon as I got the camera out, she stopped sucking on her hand. Luckily, I caught this gem instead! I love that just the sound of my voice makes her smile so much! :) Being a mom is definitely the best thing in the world!

Tubby time!

Jane LOVES the bath. She sits perfectly peacefully while we clean all of her chubby little rolls :) She doesn't even make a peep if we accidentally get water in her eyes! What a perfect little girl! She especially loves when we sing "Rubber Ducky" to her. And these pictures are of mommy giving her a bath, but lately daddy has really taken over bathing her because he loves it so much! We'll have to sneak some pictures when he's bathing her next time :)

And we are SOOOO happy that it's summer! Jane loves to look out the windows and be outside. Yesterday we went to Michelle and Brock's house with Lauren and Joseph to play some Blongo! None of us have much money to spare, so Brock has declared it the summer of Blongo :) Jane loved laying outside on the blanket with Landon...
Hurray for summer!

(Landon took this picture. He pretty much rocks at it! :)

Growing Jane

Jane is getting better and better at focusing on faces and on talking back to us when we talk to her. After several attempts to catch her on camera (usually she's being talkative and by the time I can find the camera and get it going, she no longer is. Or, she is for a couple seconds, then sees the camera and stops to stare at it), I finally caught this:

She also loves to sleep with her arms wrapped VERY tightly to her sides. We always wrap her up before she goes to bed. Then, when she is unwrapped, her arms immediately shoot up and she stretches and stretches for several minutes. It is so funny!

And Jane was so excited for Daddy to come home from work yesterday!
This is what he saw when he pulled up :)
